John Cardinal O'Hara Council #13661 Knights of Columbus held their
annual "Keep Christ in Christmas" poster contest during which 130 students from
the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary School, Harris Hill participated.
The students are given a skeletal Christmas scene to color according to
their individual interpretations, desires and artistic abilities. The
papers are collected, judged, and ranked according to each grade level by
a panel of independent judges.
The panel consisted of James and Cindy Hayes Jr., Rory and Jennifer Reichenberg, and Thomas and Amy Bergman, all of Akron.
The winners at each grade level are then awarded 1st Place Certificates
of Accomplishment by the Grand Knight.
The awards this year were made on December 17, 2009. In attendance
during the awards presentation were Mrs. Cherie Ansuini, Principal of
Nativity School, Anthony Russo, Grand Knight, and Charles Lukowski,
Warden of Council #13661.
