What is a program? It could be said that it is a series of steps to be carried out or goals to be accomplished; a system of projects or services intended to meet a public need. An easier answer could be that a program is activity, which serves to keep the interest of our membership and have them involved in their own councils. Such activities serve to keep our membership growing, enthusiastic and willing to give of their time.
The number of activities that can be planned are numerous and varied. They can be on a local council level, Chapter, State or Supreme and can included involvement in many areas such as Community, Church, Youth, C&B, Family, just to name a few. The choice may be difficult and could be determined by your council size and their interests.
Choosing several activities is preferred because they will appeal to a greater number of Brother Knights. It is most important that when the choices are made that chairman be selected, committees organized and plans be made. Proper planning will maximize the ability to succeed.
I know this is a clique but if you fail to plan most likely your plan will fail. If you get off to a good start, evaluate results on a timely basis then you have the greatest chance to be successful in whatever you chose to do.
It can be said "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass - It's about learning to dance in the rain".
