| Knights of Columbus helping feed the needy during Thanksgiving Holiday Season Father Joseph O’Connell Council #3481 in Oceanside recently prepared over 350 hot Thanksgiving meals for needy families and individuals in Oceanside and surrounding towns. This annual event entails 2 days of preparing and cooking all different types of food, packaging it, and then sending it over to St. Anthony’s Parish Center locally to be served. This event places a lot of happiness and smiles on peoples faces each year for those who don't have the opportunity to receive a thanksgiving dinner. | Peru - (L-R) Committee Chairman Joseph Purtell admires the posters being drawn Emma Bunker (8) and Lucas Frenyea (9) for the St. Augustine’s Knights of Columbus Council 7273 “Keep Christ in Christmas” poster contest. The contest is open to pre-schoolers through sixth graders. Mr. Purtell said the posters are judged not so much on technical skill, but on how well they depict the true spirit of Christmas. All participants receive craft prizes. The contest will continue following the St. Augustine’s Church, Sunday, December 16th 10:30 a.m. Mass. All eligible children are invited to participate.
